Hi Everyone,
I walked home from the LIRR station by going through the preserve around
sunset - the pond parrellel to Doris Place was full with Common Grackles
and Red-winged Blackbirds in the reeds. The noise was deafening (mostly
from the Grackles). I found another Wilson's Snipe landing in

At noon today I walked from house down to the LI Sound as I often do.
Sitting on the water among the more usual suspects was a single immature
Iceland Gull.
I'm doing a big year this year with one tiny constraint - I must have
walked from the house to see the bird in order for it to count. The

Apologies for the late report - I didn't see anyone else report from these
locations yesterday so figured I'd send it out.
Jones Beach West End was full of birds yesterday morning: besides the usual
suspects I saw a Tree Sparrow, 2 large groups of Tree Swallows (~40) - one
group
Seen in the back yard for the first time this Spring yesterday. They were
rebuilding the nest used for the last several years.
