Not much that hasn't been seen elsewhere recently, but a nice mix of new
arrivals and lingering birds this afternoon between 2 and 3:30. There were some
Meadowlarks - one at the turnaround near the police station with Killdeer, and
another 2 at the far entrance to the WE2 lot-, a good variety
This morning there was a good sparrow flight at RMSP, highlighted by eight
species of sparrow. Song Sparrow (135 - there were many more) and Dark-eyed
Junco (53) dominated the flight, with small numbers of Swamp, Tree, Chipping,
Fox, and White -throated Sparrows. Eastern Phoebe put in a good

A quick look at Hempstead Lake State Park today produced my fos Pine
Warbler. Yesterday I had a good fallout of 18+ Eastern Phoebes. There were
probably a lot more. They were everywhere.
