After realizing that Jones Beach West End had zero visibility, I went to
Massapequa Preserve starting at Linden Street heading south to the pond
parellel to Doris Place and back. Saw 2 or 3 American Woodcocks right

That's very early for a Blue-winged Warbler and I've never heard of one coming
to a feeder (or even interested by one). Are you sure it wasn't a bright Pine
Warbler?

A very early Blue-winged Warbler made a brief investigation of our
feeders early this afternoon, but failed to linger for a photo-op.
Another welcome visitor was a Golden-crowned Kinglet.

At croton point this warm spring morning (yeah) first swamp sparrow also
several gc kinglets, phoebe, one kingfisher many wood ducks, Scaup on river
side, one of baby GH owlets getting big (I have seen two and heard there are
three), 3 kestrel, 2 savannah sparrow, a few BE around, and unfortunat

For the past two nights, we have heard a Barred Owl calling - last night, it
called every hour. This is likely the mate of the owl that died on 4/1,
which is so sad.

During a quick walk through Prospect Park in Brooklyn this morning signs of
migration were evident. While diversity was low it was really nice to see

We spent most of the day at Derby Hill on the southeastern corner of Lake
Ontario yesterday. The warm weather and southerly winds were highly
