Migration continued apace, some of the previous day's birds moved on,
with some new arrivals; a star bird in the Ramble, thus seen by hordes
of birders, was a Philadelphia Vireo that Roy Tsao found, with an
assist by long-time CP
I wonder if the two Swallow-tailed Kites in CT heading this way today and the
one I had in Yonkers on the 11th were part of a group of three heading south?
Could be? Mine was later seen at the Montclair, NJ, hawkwatch.

I heard a few flight calls late last night despite the unfavorable winds,
so I decided to check out Hempstead Lake this morning. Apparently lots of
others had the same idea, as I ran into and had the pleasure to bird with a
number of listserv regulars. Notable spring firsts included SWAINSON'S
THRU
I just received word the two birds passed New Haven CT heading west at
11:35am. I hope somebody can get to the LI Sound in Westchester or the
Bronx!

Feeling envious! Gina Nichol and Steve Bird found two Swallow-tailed Kites
on the central CT coast this morning. They were hugging the coast, heading
west toward New Haven. Suggesting Lighthouse Point as the obvious fly

From the prior 3 or 4 days, many birders suggested it was a somewhat
slow migration period, given the dates in mid-May. Tuesday brought a
resurgence, at least in better variety, & somewhat, for numbers of
