Eric Miller forwarded me a picture taken by Lisa Scheppke yesterday of a
Ross' Goose that they saw on a pond inside Fort Totten in northeastern
Queens. It looks very similar to the one from Baisley Pond. Characteristics
include some gray on the head, a slight curvature at the base of the bill,

Im looking right now at 4 female common mergensers, incl.one sitting on the
ice,one redhead, one cackling goose that's kinda weird and dark with a
interesting white patch on it's head,and another more typical cackling goose.

I had two Red-shouldered Hawks in the northern section of Van Cortlandt Park
near the Forest Ave./Lee Ave. intersection in Yonkers. This is right on the
border of Yonkers and the Bronx. They were about 100feet in from the street.
