This afternoon on the low tide ,Jim Cullen and I had a Whimbrel working the
flats for about 15 minutes. Other species in numbers were Dowitchers (75),Red
Knot (5) Willets(100+) and Semipalmated Sandpipers(40)

Anyone know of a nice place to take a break and bird not too far from I-87 (the
Northway)? Anywhere between Albany and Plattsburgh. Some nice bog maybe?
(Ferd's bog is too far out of the way.)

To add a data point to this recent topic, a singing Hermit Thrush was
present Sunday in Brookhaven State Park, Wading River, where they had
been documented during the second BBA.
