I just received some additional images (thanks Julie) and the brownish
primaries are interesting and promising. In her images, the mantle is not as
pale/bleached looking as I saw in the one image I looked at earlier.

I have seen a distant photo of the bird and to me it does not reconcile with
Nelson’s. For one it looks way too pale.
Its not a Glaucous Gull either. It could be a very bleached or leucistic
Herring Gull but I’d like to see better images. Either way it’s a pretty cool
looking bird. Nice find.

At Carl Schurz Park, the female-plumaged Western Tanager made it thru the storm
and was seen several times at & around the small feeder array, just inside the
park near East End Ave. & south of the 86th St. entrance.
