The loon is currently viewable only from the end of Bayview Ave. It is between
Bayview and the yacht club, but Bayview provides the only vantage point. In the
past hour or so, it has been moving back and forth between those two spots.

Hi all,
My wife and I are considering trying for this bird tomorrow, and were wondering
if anyone went today and could provide a report. Positive or negative would be
helpful.
Thank you very much,
Tripper

In the puddle in front of the Aviator building.
There are also juvenile Semipalmated and Least Sandpipers, one Lesser
Yellowlegs, a handful of Semipalmated Plovers on the runways (with a few dozen
mixed swallow species). Surely much more to be discovered.
Good birding,
Tripper and Daisy

Since the last report was a “no” report, I thought I’d write to say that the
MAGO continues in with the oystercatcher flock. Also 5 Red Knots, 1 Royal Tern
flyby, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, and generally low shorebird numbers, but
decent diversity (12 species).
Good birding,
Tripper

For anyone interested in simply seeing a bird of this type, there is currently
one on the beach at Nickerson. Also present are at least 4 Roseate Terns, and
many young Common Terns.

About an hour ago I observed a Western Tanager at the Esdale bridge in Prospect
Park. The bird then flew down toward Ambergill Falls, and I lost track of it. I
have been searching the area since, and will continue to look for a while
longer.
Good birding,

One HUGO (The one with two working legs and no tumors) made an appearance at
field 7 about 20 minutes ago. It flushed when a peregrine flew by, but didn't
seem to go far. No golden plover or LBDO yet. But Pectoral, GRYE, Dunlin, and
BBPL.
Good birding,

I'm looking at three Lapland Longspurs in a mixed snow bunting and Horned Lark
flock in front of the Theodore Roosevelt nature center at jones beach, Nassau
county. One of the Longspurs is a breeding plumaged male.
Earlier today, I had two Razorbills off the jetty.

Seen from west side of J pond - first picked out in flight as it led a group of
starlings, which had flushed.
Then settled, again, in the west side of the J pond, feeding near the starlings
and a small group of semipalmated plovers and two killdeer.
