On the Delaware River just above Sparrowbush, NY a couple of days beck, I
saw a waterfowl far off that I didn't pay too much mind to. An imm. Eagle
made a halfhearted pass over this waterfowl and it called.It was the call of
a common loon. It dove, but surfaced again, and was able to identify it
NY-Blue
MA-Gold
ME-Red
NH-Black
NJ-Green
A silver colored one is USF&WS (very hard to read) usually placed on the
other leg if state color band is present.

I spotted about a half dozen common nighthawks at 7 pm tonight; they were
hawking for insects over Decker Rd in Glen Spey in Sullivan County. Winds
were calm and clouds broken to overcast.
