I joined Karlo Mirth this morning after his call about the 3 Wilson's Phalaropes on the East Pond at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. Together, we observed about 19 species of shorebirds with highlights being:
American Avocet (1) Wilson's Phalarope (3) American Golden Plover (1) Pectoral Sandpiper (1...possibly 2) I have yet to cycle through the photos I took. Nevertheless, I have uploaded one photo with the three Wilson's Phalaropes and one photo of the American Avocet that I photograped last evening. Note: Today's Avocet, seemed to be the same one that was reported earlier yesterday. http://www.flickr.com/photos/birdingdude/3843625950/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/birdingdude/3843625936/ Jamaica Bay is great for birding!
