Southbound landbird migration is also underway - as it typically is at
this date! In addition to a Louisiana Waterthrush at the Loch (in
Central Park's north end) on Wednesday there were at least a dozen
Bobolinks on the move very early Thursday morning. Friday's early
morning walk seemed rather slow, but chances are that other southbound
migrants are slipping thru lately.

Black Skimmers are again going into the park, as has also been the
case in Brooklyn's Prospect Park, where there have been more
observations in the last week or so.
... ...
Among various other bird reports was one of an apparently photographed
Magnificent Frigatebird (taken by "someone from NYC") on Tuesday, as
it flew south past Atlantic City New Jersey... and an off-shore report
included a South Polar Skua from just 3 miles out, in roughly the same
latitude of N.J..
