This sighting was posted in Vermont Bird List-serve but it is close to the
New York State side of Lake Champlain. It may be worth a try if someone
wants to give it a go. Besides, since you'd be so close, Vermont's a nice
place to visit for any reason.

Hi all,

Here is my eBird checklist with detailed notes on the Pacific Loon:
http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S25986437

If you look for this bird, be aware there are numerous Red-throated and
Common Loons present. It's a little bit of a tricky ID, but if the bird is
close enough it does stand out quite a bit.

Good luck to anyone who tries for it. Hopefully someone refinds it and gets
some photographs.

Cheers,
-Taj
