Migration was evident this morning in Prospect Park in Brooklyn. A
Clay-colored Sparrow was feeding on the grass just south of the LeFrak
Skating Rink with Chipping and Song Sparrows.
Other highlights included:
White-crowned Sparrow (Lookout Hill and Sparrow Bowl)
Lincoln's Sparrow
Field Sparrow

The park was quite active mid to late morning with the highlight being a
very bright Connecticut Warbler on the peninsula. Other highlights included
two Philadelphia Vireos and 16 species of warbler (without seeing a
Golden-winged Warbler reported by others).

Although the overnight winds were not from a favorable direction the
diminished wind speed allowed for some new arrivals in the park. Most
notable were the increased numbers of Yellow-rumped and Palm Warblers. A
few Pine Warblers are still around and a bright male Black & White Warbler
was feeding

Ive been away from home from Brooklyn for the xmas holiday but seeing holiday
treats in Prospect park does warm any birder's heart.

At roughly 8:15am a Yellow-throated Warbler was heard singing on the top of
Lookout Hill (and subsequently photographed. It was last seen near the
Maryland Monument.

current southern warm flow, a SWALLOW TAILED KITE that flew over the Lullwater
at 9 am , observed by Jennifer Plummer Kepler, who took a photo of the species.

After a week or so absence from this spot, the VARIED THRUSH showed up at the
Ambergill Pool /Creek area. Several observers saw the bird reported near the
Esdale Bridge at one point. Also with the thrush a RUSTY BLACKBIRD. Observers
