Rob Bate and I went on our final pelagic birding trip of the year today
(second for him and sixth for me). At 12:30 am last night we boarded the
Starstream VIII, part of the Captain Lou Fishing Fleet out of Freeport, Long
Island and traveled out to the edge of the continental shelf nea

The whale and pelagic bird sightings have been good thus far, particularly
when the whales are feeding near the surface. Here are the results to date:
