As they extend their range in LI, I saw a pair over the Ice Pond and the Goat Hill Golf course associating on the sky. Last summer I saw a single bird soaring above my house, and next day took a dive to my Purple Martin colony on my dock. I keep on seeing a single Chimney Swift over the Ice Pond where there is an abandoned chimney about 75' high. Please e-mail me if you know who covered this area in the last breeding bird survey and whether breeding was confirmed in this chimney. Orhan Birol Shelter Island
