Hello all. The red headed woodpecker was active this morning along the
overlook just north west of the lake along with all the other five species of
woodpecker. Not many ducks at the lake though.

While birding Kissena Park this afternoon I ran into Joseph O'Sullivan. He
reported a Red-headed woodpecker, male with bright red head. I went looking
for the bird immediately and found it. Took and video. The bird was seen by
him and I in the sycamore trees just north of the Lake, south of
An immature Red-headed Woodpecker was observed and photographed by
Andria and I near the lake at Kissena Park in Queens. Presumably the
same bird seen by Eric Miller earlier in the week and (maybe?) the one
also seen across the street at Kissena Corridor by Joseph Sullivan and
I.

Add Queens, to the list of boroughs reporting Red-headed Woodpeckers.
I received a message today from Eric Miller who reported seeing an immature
Red-headed Woodpecker on Tuesday, near the lake at Kissena Park. No guarantee
the bird is still there but worth knowing to keep and eye and ear out f
