Eric Miller forwarded me a picture taken by Lisa Scheppke yesterday of a
Ross' Goose that they saw on a pond inside Fort Totten in northeastern
Queens. It looks very similar to the one from Baisley Pond. Characteristics
include some gray on the head, a slight curvature at the base of the bill,

Joe Giunta just called to report a Ross' Goose at Deep Hollow Ranch.
Possibly the same bird from the Montauk CBC.
There is also a continuing Cackling Goose at the same location with
about 5 Snow Geese.
Good luck if you go and many thanks to Joe for the report.

At eight this morning (Monday 11/28) I arrived at the Marine Park Golf
Course driving range, having failed to look there for the Ross' Goose on
Saturday when I spent all my time on the airfield. I found nothing but
several thousand golf balls and a couple of guys wandering around raking
them up. De
The ROSS' GOOSE was present at the edge of the driving range's lawn at Brooklyn
Golf Center, just across the street from Floyd Bennett Field this afternoon
through 5pm in the fading light.
It was hanging out with 17 Canadas. I pulled into the golf center's parking
lot, parked and walked down

the Aviator Sports entrance to Floyd Bennett Field late this afternoon. An
immature male Harlequin Duck was off the fisherman's parking lot at Fort
Tilden. There were about 500 Bonaparte's Gulls feeding offshore. Th
Could not find the Ross Goose at Floyd Bennett Field today from 2-3pm. Ran
into another birder who said he hadn't seen it either.
