A thorough hike through black rock forest yielded a great 3 saw whet owls all
showing evidence of having been present for well over a week. I make this

Late this afternoon, a snowy owl was located on an island in Shinnecock Bay
east of the Ponquogue Bridge. The owl was seen directly across from the end of
the road that is halfway between the bridge and the fishing piers. At sunset,
a short eared owl was seen briefly over the marsh one mile

I’m not sure where the owl came from. I know from ebird owls are seen
fairly regularly at Alley Pond Park, but that park is a few miles away
