For those of you (especially anyone traveling from afar) thinking of trying for the Common Ground-Dove, you might want to hold off for another update. I received intel that the bird could have been a fatality. The result of a hungry Merlin strafing a feeding flock if birds that included the COGD.

The bird was flushed shortly after Gail's note was posted, and to my knowledge the bird was not seen again today, despite extensive searching. Congrats to Sam Jannazzo for a great find, and let's hope it can be found again tomorrow. I've posted some vaguely recognizable shots here:
