With the America White Pelican continuing on the lake at dusk, there was a
flock of just under 50 Horned Larks and 1 Lapland Longspur on the field
across from Playland Lake (on the right as you drive in towards the Edith
Read headquarters). Tom Burke & Gail Benson

At 4:15 pm (just now) we pulled into Playland and can see the American
White Pelican is sitting on the lake (on close island.). So good chance
it will spend the night again.

Forwarded message below with a Christmas Day sighting of the Gyrfalcon.
Monty’s Bay Marina (on Lake Champlain, Town of Chazy in Clinton Co.) is just a
few miles from the original sighting on Moffitt Road. How exciting for Paul!

After a flight at 11 am, the White Pelican took off again at noon headed in
a South West direction. We looked along the Rye coast to no avail. We
also just checked back at the lake but it had not returned. Tom Burke &

The White Pelican flew off Playland Lake, circled a few times and returned
to the Lake. So more active but still here.
