Tin, Lead 2008 Forecasts Raised by Barclays on China's Supplies

By Claudia Carpenter

Feb. 1 (Bloomberg) -- Barclays Capital raised its forecasts for tin
and lead for 2008, citing supply constraints in China.

Tin will average $16,838 a metric ton on the London Metal Exchange
this year, up from an earlier estimate of $15,050, London-based
Barclays analysts including Gayle Berry wrote in a report yesterday.
Lead will average $2,625 a ton, up from an earlier forecast of $2,200,
according to the report.

``Tin prices are expected to make the biggest gains of any LME metal
in 2008,'' the analysts wrote.

The London Metal Exchange is the world's biggest market for trading
industrial metals.
