I received an email from a masters student at UCT doing some research :- Presently I am looking to see if there is any groundwater data for the area around the wetland. It seems the city does not have a groundwater monitoring well, but I was curious if there were any private wells in the area. Might you have one, or know if there are any in the area? If so, there are likely not water depth recordings, however I could potentially take a measurement now during the wet season and again during the dry season for something to work work.
I only know of the well at the Biscuit Mill. But some of you may have a well in your garden or know of one in one of the more historic Obs properties and homesteads. Perhaps you have a well point or borehole - that information might be useful too Send your information to me or post to the groups and I will forward the details to the student.
