I do not know what you mean by UI. I have 2 machines identical : in one it was
printing pdf files on the other not. I the one with okular not able to print I
ran okular from a konsole and I collected an error message

I am not really sure, but I think Nepomuk developers found a way to only get
notified when a file is finally closed after writing (e.g. download finished),
instead of whenever it is modified.
