On my '52 I have a glass bowl filter elbowed on the carb - love it, and amazing how that ol' bead filter element really works great. But if you're re-doing, I'd recommend you install a clear plastic modern type also, I have one on the line underneath 'tween tank and fuel pump. Jim R. Lowery,

I am redoing the lines after some engine work and I am wondering where to put the fuel filter. I see a glass bowl type from Chevy Duty that is kinda neat. Guys at the LAPS say the filter should be after the pump. So install right before the carb? [Non-text portions of this message have been re

Koldei, There are several considerations that would dictate what acours you should take. It's easiest to just trade differentials, lots of choices available without havin to spend a huge amount of money and not too much work. Do you want to haul heavy loads? Do you want to tow stuff? Do you

Thanks. I almost called the color egg shell. I guess I've been buying so many brown eggs lately I forgot exactly what color egg shells are. I've gotten stuff from Jim Carter before. I'll check that out. My dash is ok but the fresh air vent covers need painting. Jon L. --- Merlin Bellinger <[EMAI

Nate, I wish I could but it's a long drive from Phoenix. I grew up in that neck of the woods so it would be a lot of fun for other reasons as well. Some day soon, I hope. vwnate1 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:To: old-chevy-truck@yahoogroups.com From: "vwnate1" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Thu, 03

Allen I'll check when I get home but I bought it from the LAPS. I've actually run the engine (before pulling it) with the exhaust pipe painted and it's held up so far but with only a 100 miles or so of driving. Once I get the engine back in I'll be able to give it some more hot testing. K

Deve I've not done this before but the place that's coating this one uses a high temp powder (1200 degrees). I'm thinking (hoping) that it will hold up pretty well. I've already painted my exhaust pipe with a high heat aluminum colored paint to match. Ken Deve <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:

The thing that intrigues me is the concept of powder coating the exhaust manifold. I wasn't aware that it would hold up over time. Has anyone done this and used it for awhile? Deve www.speedprint.com/Deves50 -Original Message- From: vwnate1 [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, M

It sure does ! on most of my old rigs I polish the underside of the hood as it really brightens up the motor box . The heat thing is a non issue ~ my old VW's all run much higher underhood temps than any truck ever will and they all have nice painted undersides too . -Nate Jon wrote:
