Here is an excellent source for paint color chips.
There are a few steps to finding this from the link below.
first select "color" for the top bar, then select "Color Chip

I spoke to a machine shop and they suugested that first I call and
see if perhaps parts were missing. I called Chevy Duty and was told
that that's how they fit, nothing missing and they would be fine.
This winter, I'll take my parts to a machine shop and see if they can
be made to fit better.
Nate,
I had a chunk of old cable tip in there. Got it out, but now my
speedo works good to about 50 then it starts swinging wildly from 40
to 60. Me thinks the speedo head has seen better days.

Mm, thanks Jeff, but I'll stand bye my assertion that the bores
and original ball-ends are cylindrical and not tapered, at least on a
half ton. I added pictures of the ball studs to the Speedo Cable
folder so you can see for yourself. Also the ball ends fit very
tight in the steering ar
Ken,
Any idea how often you would use a quart of oil before and after? I
have heard the 235 leaks no matter what, but I think I need to
replace my rear main seal.

Nate's advise was great. I removed the plug by sticking the chuck
end of a drill bit in and pulling it out so I'll be able to reuse
it. I added oil and spun it until the wick was saturated and viola,
it spins much easier.
I posted some pictures in a folder named Speedo Cable.

I replaced the tie rod ends on my '57 earlier this year. The drivers
side had 1/4 to 1/2" of slop vertically. Going over good bumps or
rail road tracks at speed caused the truck to just about go any

In July I replaced my transmission with one that had a good
speedometer drive gear. My speedometer & odometer worked for 90

and it sheared off its plastic nub at the dash end after only maybe 7

Thanks for the input Nate. It runs 160 in short hops around town and
ran 190 on a recent 60 mile trip. There is an A/C condenser in front
of my radiator. Perhaps that's the problem.

Hi All,
I broke the head off the bolt that hold the speedo driven gear lock
plate in place. I also busted two easy-outs off in the hole I
drilled into the bolt. Fun night. Anyone know the consequences of
driving around without the lock plate & bolt? Will the guts fall
out, might I trash t

I was wondering if Saturday would be a crawl. I don't want to wear
out my clutch or my leg (its as old as the truck). I have never
been to this before. Is it hard to find a place to park for $10.00
or less? Would I see lots of cars on a Thursday?

Just wondiering if anyone is taking their truck? I'm thinking about
it, but still undecided.

I was wondering if anyone knew how the mirror is attached to the

Hi All,
Using an angle grinder, I wire brushed the drivers side
step area on the '57. I got the surface rust off, but there are alot
of pits and divots from the rust, if you know what I mean.
I see some folks put diamond-plate or carpet over their steps, but I'd
like to have mine "natural". They

I picked up a used set of 265-75-15 on 15x8 rims. They fit under my
rear fenders with about a finger of clearance, but have plenty of room
on the front of my '57. I'm using 235-15-75's on the rear.

I noticed one of my tie rods needs to be replaced. I probably
shouldn't even be driving the truck until it is, fortunately winter
is almost here so I'll be forced to park it soon. Half the fleet is
down, so SWMBO and I share the F*** Exploder, unless I use the '57.
