Greetings -- As long as I've owned my '59 step-side I've refrained from using my brights. The fellow who owned the truck before me installed halogen lamps and after thirty seconds with all four headlights on the original switch overheats and the connectors begin to melt and smoke and the headlig

It sounds to me that there is no relay between the light switch and the head lights. I would put a relay in to take the heavy power load off the light switch. This relay is operated by the light switch, the relay is hooked up to the battery, and uses a 30 amp fuse. Maybe some on the list has a
