There's alot of buzz about problems (mostly intermittent noise) with hyd
lifters in a stovebolt six and its apparently well documented. There's also
some info out there about curing those problems. I feel the the hyds offer some
good advantages if they are operating properly. Obviously the early
. lifters and Im gonna
change them out at the same time. I have heard that the aftermarket hyd.

Guys, I can't seem to get a correct answer. What I have is a 59 - 261 with
standard camshaft as far as I know. I also have a set of new factory hydraulic
valve lifters (for a 235) I wanna install. My question is, "What is the
correct length of the push rod I need?" The master parts book say
Wow, your were up late working on that thing. Two sizes listed for the 261
according to a vintage NAPA engine parts catalog I have here. The 1956-62 was
11.270". Just FYI, the earlier 54-55 is listed as 10.605".
