Subject: [old-chevy-truck] Sway Bar for 3/4 Ton
I've contacted several manufacturers & catalog sales companys and have
not found a sway bar for my 46 3/4 ton.
The shop that is going to do my front end alignment said to get a 1/2
ton bar & that he would make
I don't know about a '46, but on an Advance Design truck the 1/2-ton swap
bar would work on the 3/4-ton truck pretty easy.
Might need to drills some holes in the cross member for the mounting bolts
and would need to modify the axle brackets to fit the slightly larger axle,
but I can believe it wo

Hi Roy, as an antisway bar appreciating guy, I am
curious as to the changes you have noticed are on your
3/4 Ton. I have a 52 3100 1/2 Ton and really like
what that antisway bar does for my driving pleasure.

parrellel to the ground is best as it mean that it will 'change
length' as little as possible when moving up/down.
if you start it at a 45 and it moves more-then its getting shorter and
putting strian on its mounting.

WHEN WE WERE PUTTING MY FRONT ANTI SWAY BAR ON MY 52
3100, WE WERE ADVISED TO INSTALL THE BAR AS PARALLEL
TO THE HORIZONATAL AS POSSIBLE. I THINK IT HAD
SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE WEAR ON THE TIRES. LMCTRUCK
HAS A NICE WRITE UP ON THE ANTI SWAY BAR ISSUE.

Seems like everything I do on theis truck has me asking a bunch of questions.
Anyway, I am past the torque bit...don't have to do it (Yay). I have just
loosely assembled it on the truck after reaming out the bracket holes to fit
the bigger U bolts on the 3/4 ton. As usual, the repop part isn't q
