Regarding the "shaft" which fits below the distributor
(and goes down to the oil pump), I'm looking in a
parts book (no illustrations!) and I see three (3)
shafts listed:
a drive shaft (#22525286),
a driven

from Fusick's and fixed two out of three. I think the last one which defies
understanding is headed for the upholstery shop to see if they can do anything
