Joe,
I don't have a feel for this stuff, but the engine is carrying a later model
1970s AC compressor. I guess that came with the late '70s 350 engine. I seem
to see an AC line not hooked up. The muffler behind the compressor has a red
line cap on a line. There's no hose there. I assume the AC
Can anyone tell me where the horn relay is supposed to be located on a 65

It mounts near the top, center on the left inner fender panel. The part
number is Standard Motor Parts Standard Plus Ignition Parts # HR-122.
It seems that someone has removed it from the car.
So I assume
Or take a pipe of 2" water pipe of the correct length and cut it in half.
Actually, cut it at 160 degrees in order to be able to remove it properly
after installing the bushings.

Well, glass bead it and paint it, and it's good to go. I don't see anything
wrong with it for $81. He may have not liked the shipping charge, but that's
the shipping company, and what we must live with. Maybe he just wants
something for nothing.

So have you been collecting those #8 heads? I know they are
generally regarded as "junk smog heads" but they are just the

Thanks to all for the emotional support over the last few months. I am going
thru Olds withdrawal big time.
The engine was broken in today. 30 minutes on the dyno, with no leaks or cam
issues. The Q-jet is kind of lean - about 15 to 1, where 12.8 to 1 is ideal.
The only pull made 340HP and 470TQ.
This issue is supposed to have a good segment on building a marine 455
Olds.
Does anyone have a copy that they are willing to photocopy and send?
Cross-posted to a few lists but so far no cigar.
Thanks,
Ian

That's still available. Offy made cross-ram adapters to bolt to any dual
quad (Offy preferably) intake manifold to turn the manifold into a
functioning cross-ram. The part number is 5497, bottom of page 39 of the
Offy catalog. Any good speed shop should be able to order a pair of them for
you.
