Hey Vinny, I would definitely pull the body and powder coat the frame. IF the pits are real deep, they show under the powder coat. Remember, you can choose from many black powder gloss levels. So, semi flat of some type would look right. If the pits are bad, you will need to skim coat the frame

Vinny I dipped mine in stripper to remove the paint, then acid to remove all rust. Then primed and painted with 3 part PPG epoxy. It is lots of work. Then undercoated the inside with a kit from Eastwood. Notice the heavy pits on the trailing arms and the rear tubes. http://s13.photobucket.c

Steve of course, I have all new brake and need to buy new fuel lines from tank to carb being is has 1/2 aluminum tube now. I was also going to powder coat the control arms (fronts) and buy new rears, P/Coat the sway bars, but I dont want to spend $3000 on P/coating thanks Vinny

If you already have the engine out and the front clip off, pulling the body is not that much more work. And it will look MUCH better after the frame is blasted. I'd paint it with POR-15 after it's blasted, then follow that with a coat of chassis black. And, that would be a good time to instal
