Have any of you seen tank floats "stick" in car parked for a while?
It has 76,000 miles on it, always in AZ.
Yes. More than likely is surface corrosion on the contact strip that got
rubbed off once the swing arm moved up and down a few times.

Yes the "resistor" gets oxidized on the sender. Once the level in the tank
goes up and down a bit the sender should work properly again.

My '72 Toronado has been parked for most of the last 7 years. I am getting
it ready for the CA zone show next week, and the Nationals. The gas gauge
worked when I bought it 4 years ago. When I got it out to restore last fall
it would not work. It was stuck on 1/4. I put gas in it a couple times
