It's possible that it really had 168k when you bought it if it didn't have the 6th digit on the odometer.  Or maybe someone turned the odometer back. Joe, You had mentioned your wife's Celebrity with the 2.5L 4 cyl had problems with missing when first hitting the gas from a dead stop.  As you said it has the single injector ahead of the intake manifold which is the same setup as my car. Milton, Thanks for your response.  What you said makes a lot of sense.You asked about the ignition wires, and yes, I did recently replace them.The idea about having dirty fuel injectors being the source of missing/sputtering is a definite possibility. Thanks again,njot   ___

Why did this happen? Why would I get horribly low readings with a cold engine but OK readings with a warm engine? Is this abnormal? First, on the cold engine which hadn't been run for a few days, all the oil had drained out of the ring area. Oil on the cylinder walls does help to seal the r
