I have a running OmniOS system
that boots from HDD but I would like to boot the machine from
SSD. I first pondered if I could just create an image, using
CloneZilla, of the rpool disk and then restore that image again

For what it's worth, moving
Can someone provide a recipe which gets OpenSSH messages under control
and puts them in their own log file (e.g. '/var/log/adm'), while also
removing the noise from the console?
OpenSSH is even noisier than SunSSH. For a machine with ssh access
from the Internet, the console becomes unusable
I noticed that OmniOS r151020 is producing an ACPI warning on a
SuperMicro Xeon D system. I don't think that it was doing this for
r151018 (or else I didn't notice):

Thanks Dan,
I just was wondering about it, because in Solaris it's allowed we do it
all the time and it's become a automatic behavior for us, but if we know

OmniOS release r151014 (LTS) and r151020 (Stable) now have their "gcc44"
packages updated to "il-4", which includes some cmn_err() argument improvements
that allow the very latest (as of yesterday) illumos-gate to compile DEBUG
packages. If your nightly builds start failing on DEBUG, make

Hello OmniOS,
Why isn't allowed to install a LX-Zone or Zone if the DATA pool doesn't
have a mountpoint on the parent ?
below example doesn't allow you to install a Zone or LX-Zone
root@OmniOS:/root# zfs list
NAME USED AVAIL REFER MOUNTPOINT

After seeing all the responses, it sounds like I should update both r151020 and
r151014 with the new gcc44-il.
I'll spin that sometime today
All supported repos and bloody have new updated ISC BIND packages. Note that
the "omnios" repo only contains the client side for OmniOS operation. If you
get BIND server from somewhere, make sure that is being updated too. Also note
that ms.omniti.com/omniti-ms, while not officially a
