We have been preferring commodity SSD like Intel 320 (older), intel 710, or
currently, Samsung 850 pro. We also use it as boot drive and reserve an 8GB
slide for ZIL so that massive synchronous NFS IOPS are manageable.

I have never really ran into cpu issues using ZFS with LZ4 compression even
at fairly high usage so I imagine any of them would work fine.

Some nic's don’t handle the virtio stuff very well (myricom im looking at you)
so that could be part of the problem
Intel typically is pretty good about it however so the e1000's working doesn’t
surprise me.
What nics are you specifically having issues with that have the extra delay?
The intel cards are nice but they don't have any cx4 cards so we don't use
them. Copper connections have less latency on short links then fiber as you
don't have the electric to optical conversion (when done properly)

I tried to add setprop temp-multiple 0 to
/usr/lib/fm/fmd/plugins/disk-transport.conf due to a bug in Seagate drives,
however when I start up the machine with that configuration in it I get the
following error, if anyone has any ideas what the cause could be.

I would run memtest on the system I have had similar issues in the past with
bad ram/cpu/mobo
Doesn't sound like a OS issue tbh
