Hi Jennifer,
The case I mentioned below where you check in an item with an Available
status is one where the system would set the status to Reshelving
without a checkin date.

Yes. That is the kind of action that I would expect. And yet... We have
items in the reshelving status that do not have a checkin date. Weird. I
just can't figure how that happened.
Thanks!

Jennifer,
You can also "hard code" your reports template so that "Is Deleted?" equals
"False" when setting up the Base Filter.
Hope that helps! I can explain in more detail if that doesn't make sense.

Why is it that we need to set a check box on all reports to exclude them?
Seems to me that you would have that checked by default and only UN-check
it when you needed to see deleted items. Is it backwards?
Yes, you will though I think you can make it the default. The reporter

WHY do deleted items remain in the system?
Mainly for database integrity. The id numbers are referenced by past

Oh dear. I did not know that. THANK you for letting me know. In future, I
will be sure to check that box. Our previous system gave items like that a

those items had a status of "deleted" as well. :)

To follow up on what Holly said, this is one of the most confusing things

Things are never really deleted in Evergreen. Are you running the report with

As far as reporting is concerned, have you filtered out deleted items? That
might explain the items popping up in the report but invisible from the catalog.

Ok. I have a real mystery for you. We are still trying to figure out our
"reshelving" status issue. Some items have gotten that status and REFUSE to
go out of that status with the script running on the server.
So. I keep running the "list items by status" report to see what is still

I forgot about the slimpac… This is very close, in terms of display, and I
could see with tweaking where it would be visually what we would need. I don’t
know how Evergreen handles LCC numbers so I don’t know if shelflisting rules
are already in place or if they would have to be scoped out.

Thanks, Elaine.
Based on that, it seems that (with appropriate styling and integration) the
backend behind the old "slimpac" call number browse does, indeed, fill the
need and pretty well matches your definition of a shelf list. Here are a
