Has anyone had problems with 2.6.31 or newer kernels when using ifaces
on the same subnet?
It looks like with 2.6.31 the network layer changed how it handles the
route verification. So with 2.6.31 and newer kernels you need to set
net.ipv4.conf.default.rp_filter = 0
in /etc/sysctl.con

There is a new release candidate release, open-iscsi-2.0-872-rc2 here:
