*Purpose/Description:*

This position takes responsibility for the assessment and optimization of
the WAN/LAN networks, through network monitoring, and daily health checks,
assisting in evaluations of vendor products, and make recommendations on
selection.

Provides support and resolution for escalated communications problems and
also performs the most complex testing/analysis of all elements of network
facilities.

Working knowledge of IP Telephony and convergences of technology as related
to voice and data communications.

 It requires five years of experience in network communications on Cisco
platform, with a strong emphasis on communications with a variety of
business units, equipment vendors, and carriers.

*Core Responsibilities:*

·        Performs the most complex testing / analysis of all elements of
network facilities.

·        Provides project implementation support to meet business
objectives.

·        Provides guidance for less experienced network engineers.

·        Provides support and resolution for escalated communications
problems.

·        Follows company guidelines and procedures for trouble resolution
and work effort reporting.

·        Apply knowledge of Cisco data switches to activate new ports and to
troubleshoot connectivity.

·        Proficient understanding of Cisco switching and routing.

·        Assist in building phones on Cisco switches.

·        Assist and implement daily adds, moves, and changes, including
cabling infrastructure, and hardware (Racks, WIC’s, Patch Panels, Copper &
Fiber Hardware).

·        Taking ownership and driving resolutions to insure customer
satisfaction.

Cisco routers and switches for LAN / WAN

Indepth knowledge of  DNS, DHCP, QIP Proxy products.

Network tools (Spectrum, Cisco works and Sniffers’)

Internet use for VPN services

Problem resolution

VPN (Dial and Dedicated)

WLAN technology and troubleshooting

Excellent Documentation Skills
