Role:: Build and Release engineer Location : fostercity, CA *Job Description ::* Responsibilities - Handle the daily responsibilities of supporting the build and release needs of agile scrum teams. - Assist in scheduling and implementing changes to the build / release / version-control processes required to enforce and apply build and release engineering best practices - Provide guidance to cross-team and team members in release best practices and procedures - Support all pre-production, managed environments for middleware services, applications Qualifications - Service attitude with go-getter mentality - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Very good attention to detail, someone who takes ownership and pride in all work - Strong analytical and organizational skills - Ability to work independently, as well as with a team - Understanding of the software development life-cycle - Must be able to occasionally work off-hours to support production releases Required Experience These are the basic requirements for this role - 6+ years of experience in Build and Release engineering roles - Experience in Release automation (e.g. Jenkins/Ansible) - Experience in Software Configuration Management tools like Git, Chef and Consul etc. - Knowledge of SCM concepts (code lines, branching, merging, integration, versioning, etc.) - Knowledge of Workflow tools. E.g. Jira, Stash, Bitbucket - Experience in System administration, System Configuration and System debugging. - Experience in scripting language E.g.
