This position may be based anywhere in the US but can usually expected significant periods of travel. However this task will be based at one customer location and some amount of work will be performed at the consultants home office. The Security Engineer will be involved with delivering strategic security solutions to Cognizant customers and o help manage the risks involved with technology to business endeavors. Some of the services to be provided include: Secure IT Architecture and Design, Secure Networking Implementations and Standard development . This position may be responsible for researching and evaluating new products; implementing tools, techniques, and processes for new and existing Information Security infrastructure; providing operational support and consulting services to business units. The requirements for this position are a Bachelor''s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related field plus typically 6 – 10 years in the Information Technology industry with strong technical and operational IT Network Security Engineer experience in areas such as TCP/IP Portocols and Cisco Routing/Switching, DMZ/VLAN, Network (LAN/WAN/WLAN) Topologies, Protocol Encapsulation / Translation, Cisco/Checkpoint Firewall Architecture and Design, Encryption Architecture Technologies, Remote (VPN) Access Solutions; Cisco Intrusion Preventation and Detection Systems, Proxy/Reverse Proxy Solutions, Cisco (AAA) Authentication, Authorization and Accounting Controls. Act as an independent member of security review team and be able to document work in a professional manner. Be able to work with network security issues and help identify and close issues that are relevent to a PCI related audit. Candidate must have many of the following strong technical and network based skills for the following: Unix, Windows, TCP, UDP, IP, HTTP/s, SMTP, FTP, DNS/DHCP, NetBIOS, Microsoft, Secure Shell, Java, SSL, PKI, IPSec, DDoS, Protocal Sniffers and TCPDump Should have a basic understanding of compliance requirements for PCI-DSS Certification: CCIE, CCNA, CCSE, and/or Security+ certifications a plus. Desired Skills: Generally required are advanced analytical skills, detail orientation and accuracy with good organizational skills. Successful candidates must also possess excellent interpersonal and team based skills, be able to handle multiple responsibilities, prioritize tasks, and work under time constraints in a matrix environment. International work experience is a plus. Understand how to work with a project and occassional take a leadership to close security concerns.
