Location - South Bay Area, CA Rate : open Duration: 6+ mts Primary Job Responsibilities This project involves migration of 150+ processes from existing UNIX/SAS environment into new SAS suite of tools, including SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS Web Report Studio and SAS BI Tool. This will involve development, rigorous testing and all other change management control steps. Individual will also be responsible for report development using multiple outputs, including SAS BI tool, SAS Add-in for Excel and various data files that will then be imported into emails, web pages and Excel for further formatting. Individual must demonstrate expertise and leadership in problem solving, working with cross-functional teams to solve difficult and challenging data needs, in the form of data list pulls or MIS reporting. Responsible for the execution of entire projects from start to finish including project management, data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of key insights and recommendations. Will execute weekly reporting that includes execution of various SAS programs, auditing of the results and formatting them into MS Excel reports. Requires review of SAS log and list files to extract necessary results. Ensure all new projects and functionality are built with the right data elements and controls for proper financial reporting, operational audit-ability, metrics reporting and analysis. Must demonstrate experience implementing or supporting an operations environment with a strong understanding of operational realities and extraordinary commitment to the customer experience. As a member of the team individual is expected to work alongside fellow team members and to help others on as needed basis as well to ask for help when appropriate. Required Skills Minimum of 5-8 years SAS programming in a UNIX environment. Advance programming k nowledge in SAS, especially PROC SQL connecting to various RDBMS, flat files, etc. Minimum of 3-5 years experience using newer SAS tools for development, not maintenance - Enterprise Guide, BI and Web Report Server Expert with data query tools (e.g., SQL, SAS) and data warehousing is required - must have SAS programming skills with tools other than PC SAS. Highly experienced with SAS Macros, DO Loops and de-bugging UNIX shell scripting, including SAS and error codes. Minimum 5 years hands on knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems in a production or data management environment - - specifically Oracle, Teradata or both Excellent Excel Skills; building reports, pivot tables and charts from SAS output. Experience with very large production datasets Excellent written and oral communication skills Motivated self-starter personality; must be able to work independently of supervision but be a willing and contributing participant on cross-functional team Proven problem solving skills with an emphasis on quick problem resolution Ability to thrive in a high-pressured but highly structured, customer oriented environment and to contribute to multiple projects/demands simultaneously.
