We have urgent requirement of Business Analyst in Dallas, Texas Title: Business Analyst Location: Dallas, Texas Duration: 6+ months *OIL AND GAS DOMAIN EXPERIENCE MUST* BUSINESS ANALYST POSITION DESCRIPTION The Business Analyst (BA) partners with business and information technology to lead the creation of innovative valued solutions. The BA advises their clients on business system strategies, opportunities and improvements by applying their knowledge of business, information technology (IT) and of their client's business strategies, goals and objectives. The BA plays a leadership role in assisting EnCana's business leaders in the identification, implementation and coordination of business system changes and improvements throughout the solution life cycle. The BA is accountable for ensuring that solutions implemented are designed and delivered in the most effective and efficient manner possible.** Key Accountabilities The key accountabilities for a BA are: - Create business system strategies, proactively identify and manage the business clients' opportunity portfolio - Architect innovative business solutions and coordinate all activities associated with solution design, development and delivery to achieve desired business outcomes - Advise client on how to use technology effectively to the business unit's advantage - Deliver the solution meeting time, cost and other client acceptance criteria - Build and manage effective relationship with key stakeholders Key Duties and Responsibilities The key duties and responsibilities of a BA are: - Monitor ongoing performance of their clients' business systems; apply knowledge of market trends, best practices, technology and changing business conditions to identify business system performance opportunities or issues; anticipate business requirements and influence the development of the clients' business system strategy - Monitor IT developments, practices, emerging technologies and advising business clients on the performance implications for their business systems and practices - Manage stakeholder expectations at all levels; seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships; consistently deliver high quality services to clients - Establish effective communication lines and feedback mechanisms with business client, IT and vendor groups, and management. Network and develop relationships with Encana's leaders, specialists and experts within and across business unit areas and key solutionproviders to identify collaborative opportunities. Apply business and IT knowledge to effectively conduct business needs investigations, including identification of key business issues and opportunities and impact relative to business system performance, cost management, innovation, operational excellence or regulatory adherence Develop and present potential business benefits and justification, engage relevant stakeholders and steward the go-no go decisions along the solution life cycle Manage shifting priorities, direction changes; implement course corrections for initiatives across the client area and/or for initiatives across multiple client areas Coordinate, manage and facilitate changes required for successful business solution development and implementation including user acceptance testing, release management, roll-out, user training and communication, and post implementation controls Ensure that the impact of IT driven projects on the client and their business is understood, communicated and changes and expectations communicated and managed Formally or informally mentor, provide direction and guidance to BA's with less experience Qualifications Education • Undergraduate Degree (business, science, mathematics, computing science, or equivalent) Experience - 5+ years of experience as a business analyst having lead 2 or more large, complex or cross organization initiatives through the full solution lifecycle and the combination of... - 5 years of related oil and gas industry business experience (preferred), and/or - Experience in business transformation, re-engineering, or managing the human dimension of large change initiatives Knowledge • Oil and gas business domain knowledge in 2 or more areas • Industry best practices; market and competitive trends Skills/Competencies • The Business Analyst role requires the BA to demonstrate a significant amount of effective non-authoritative leadership ability.
