Role : Sr SQL DBA (Local Preferred) Location : Atlanta, GA Duration : 6 Months Rate : $60/hr Exp : Min 10+ *Role Summary/Purpose* The SQL Server DBA will serve as technical expert responsible for the design/architecture/implementation/administration/optimization of SQL Server database technology. Individuals in this role will research database technology, determine requirements, propose changes, and develop architecture/implementation plans. *Essential Responsibilities * The Data Management team is looking for an individual to lead an initiative to evaluate the design, architecture & implementation of existing M&D (Monitoring & Diagnostics) SQL infrastructure and propose improvements. M&D is an enterprise application used to monitor the performance of 2000 turbine sites world wide, it has a number of sub systems that interface with it, such as Optimus Data Viewer, Optimus Alarm Viewer, Proficy Historian. The data is collected from multiple sub system by the M&D application and stored in SQL Server database. This is a highly technical role for a senior DBA with excellent leadership & communication skills. In addition you will: - Set and administer standards for overall organization's SQL Server relational database structure/architecture - Self-directed - Ability to work in a virtual team without day to day managerial oversight - Experience with HA and replication technology available with SQL Server - Proven experience with extreme performance tuning of SQL Server environments - Experience with other SQL Server components – SSAS, SSRS, SSIS - Proficiency in PowerShell, TSQL scripting specific to database administration and automation - Systems Administration background in Windows - Good understanding of SAN and Virtualization technologies - Maintain, tune, monitor and administer both development and production SQL Server application databases and application-tier technology components - Designs, tests and installs database management systems for use with business applications - Ensures appropriate linkages with applications to other data processing systems - Monitor, resolve and implement incidents, service requests, changes and problem tickets requested by the applications teams providing hands on DBA support - Ensure that proper root cause analysis in completed on all Database Problem tickets and that solutions are implemented across the enterprise of servers. - Constructs database specifications, provides fault isolation and resolution, tunes database applications for optimum performance, and implements disaster recovery and contingency plans as required by the business - Responsible for the control, integrity, and accessibility of the database file structure of one or more databases with multiple concurrent users - Research database technologies, determine business requirements, propose changes, and develop migration and implementation plans, may execute projects based on these activities - Ensure plans for database technologies integrate effectively with other aspects of the technical infrastructure *Qualifications/Requirements * - Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering (or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in the application of information technologies to business solutions) - Minimum of 10 additional years of experience with SQL Server as a professional DBA in a large business environment - Windows experience with some system administration skills. - Knowledge & understanding of multi-tier system architectures - Strong oral and written communication skills Eligibility Requirements: *Desired Characteristics * - Possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States - Administrative experience with MSSQL - Provide consulting support to Database application teams, Solutions Architect in complex systems design - Provides leadership to identify practical solutions to improve performance and availability for support applications and infrastructure - Ability to influence and build consensus with other IT teams and leadership -- Thanks & regards, *Rohit Gupta* *VBeyond Corporation* Office : (908) 988-0329 EXT: 222 Mail : roh...@vbeyond.com -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Open Source Erp & Crm" group.
