We will require both a phone interview and an onsite interview before final selection.* * * *We have a fixed budget on this as follows: Corp-to-Corp:* *$30.00 per hour (8hrs.) and $45.00 per hour (if a full 12hr shift is worked)* *UNIX Systems Administrator – SF, CA (SOMA) * Our client, a leading ecommerce company is looking for a Systems Administrator to join its Network Operations Center (NOC). This candidate should be self-motivated, production sensitive, and technically talented to support their 24x7 production environment. In this role, the candidate will provide monitoring and support for both client applications, UNIX based systems. Provide Level 1 shift support on both the development and production environment. Twelve hour shifts are required for this role. Some flexibility on shifts range from 7-9pm to 7-9am Monday-Wednesday/Thursday or Thursdays to Saturday/Sunday. Job Requirements: * Monitor all production systems and services * First response resolution of all production alerts and problem reports * Problem ticket creation, processing and queue management * Technical chat, technical call or bridge management and facilitation * Able to create/revise documentation thoroughly for tactical use and training * Follow all documented processes and procedures * Escalate all site issues to documented escalation matrix * Provide timely feedback on process/procedural improvements and operational inefficiencies * Complete tasks required to maintain service levels and availability of all site features and functions * 3-4 years of experience in a UNIX production environment, preferably Solaris and Linux * Basic concepts of corporate network * Solid troubleshooting skills * Excellent prioritization skills and effective communication skills * Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Hyperic. * Strong interpersonal skills, ability to take ownership, and the ability to identify and solve problems quickly in a fast-paced environment * Experience with Oracle database administration / replication is a plus, but not required * Education: Bachelors Degree or Equivalent Twelve hour shifts are required for this role.
