*Position: *Lead UI/UX Designer *Location:* Hawaii *Duration:* 6 Months Plan and implement a best-in-class user experience for all customer-facing web products. Develops, modifies and debugs software applications, web pages and other customer facing web sites using a variety of technologies. Responsible for web site planning and design. Works on multiple projects and communicates with customers and management on project status. Identifies system deficiencies and recommends solutions. Through user experience (UX) strategy and leadership, ensure that web products are built with a design-first approach and that consumer needs and industry-leading usability are part of the delivery. Works on multiple projects as a project lead, lead designer or as a subject matter expert. *Duties and Responsibilities:* Responsible for planning and design of enterprise-wide customer facing web products. Champions the user experience and vision, focuses on consumer strategy and delivering the best-in-class user experience. Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following: 1. Champion the user experience strategy and vision 2. Mentor and teach design and development team members in UX principles 3. Coach and lead other UX staff 4. Drive development of web app interaction design from conceptualization to implementation 5. Define and evolve Information Architecture of HMSA.com 6. Define user interfaces for better user productivity, discoverability and simplicity 7. Produce design concepts, wireframes and mockups, translating product strategy into design 8. Apply and evolve user empathy techniques including user research, usability testing, contextual interviewing, survey writing and evaluation 9. Synthesize information from multiple sources including customer feedback to inform your work 10. Maintain UI specifications such as online style guides and standards documents 11. Keep informed of new technologies, interaction design trends, and accepted practices in web application design *Minimum Qualifications:* 1. Bachelor's Degree in design related field including interaction design, industrial design or human computer interaction or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2. Seven years of relevant technical, business, and design experience with five years working on web-based products. 3. Extensive experience with rich-client web and mobile interfaces. 4. Experience in a leadership or senior designer role; ability to mentor and teach others in UX principles and processes. 5. In-depth knowledge of User Interface Design principals, Human Factors, User Centered Design Processes, Interaction Design guidelines, Usability Methodologies, industry standards and trends, platform standards, and the software development process. 6. Working knowledge of HTML/CSS Experience. 7. An intuitive sense of how people perceive and interact with web and mobile software. 8. Passionate about customer focused research and applying it to create effective interaction designs 9. Well-organized with strong communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously across multiple teams. 10. Motivated self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced, success-driven environment. 11. Exceptional interpersonal, collaborative and creative problem solving skills. 12. Experience in an agile development process. 13. Portfolio required.
