Position: Sr. Software Development Engineer Location: Shelton, CT Duration: 6 Months with extensions up to 2 years! Local Preferred Job Requirement: Mandatory are strong communication skills and strong experience with Web Services. the other main technologies that the consultant needs are: C#, .Net, Web Sphere and a working knowledge of Java. Key Technologies: Strong Web Services Experience - C#, .net, WebSphere, working knowledge of Java Senior Software Development Engineer with Design and Development Responsibilities: The Software Developer designs and builds complex systems to provide solutions to business problems. This individual is a strategist, designer and strong in multiple language and technology knowledge, with broad enterprise perspective and key responsibility for working with business leaders to translate the business strategy to the technical strategy and design. This individual is also focused on execution, working with the technical team to develop and implement the architectural design. This individual has both a breadth of knowledge as well as in-depth specialty technical knowledge. Essential Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Education, and/or Experience): . Four-year college degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related discipline . Ten to fifteen years' experience in technology field, with five to ten years' experience as software architect . In-depth understanding of: solutions domain and relevant technologies; multiple software development processes; and architectural modeling/modeling frameworks . Experience with design patterns of SOA, n-tiered architectures, .NET and Java technology stacks . Strong OO fundamentals and expertise in at least one OO: C++ and/or Java . Ability to juggle multiple projects and course correct as business drivers change . Experience developing applications on Windows Server environments as well as working knowledge of Java technology . Ability to develop quick proof of concepts . Experience with messaging services (i.g. JMS, ActiveMQ, WS MQ, etc) . Experience with RESTFUL, SOAP web services . Experience with HTML, J2EE Servlets, IIS and Apache web servers . Experience with integration and development on JSR 168 and 286 portals servers preferred . Experience working with Agile Development methodologies . Knowledge of multiple solutions domains . Strong consultative skills . Demonstrated ability to build relationships . Strong written and oral communication . Skilled in conflict management and resolution . Strong listening skills . Experience in mentoring others . Hands-on experience in training others . Expertise in developing technical documentation . Ability to continually evolve/improve productivity and environment and learn new development trends/practices Preferred Qualifications: . Advanced degree in relevant field . IEEE and/or other relevant certification(s) . Web Development experience .
