Position: Web Developer Location: New York City, NY Duration: 18+ Months Contract Description: Web developer to become part of an innovative team, subject matter expert in Web developer. They will be working on Locus, a web portal that provides real-time data, analytics and analysis tools for Investment Bank Sales, Trading and Research to collaborate with customers on current and future trade ideas. The system is browser-based with html, JavaScript and Silver light controls. . Design, develop, test and deploy robust client facing web application controls in a web-based environment. . The position may require interaction with end users, both while gathering specs and giving support. The candidate needs to be flexible enough to be able to contribute in a team environment on some projects but be proactive enough to be able to manage their own time and others time on projects in which they take the lead Skills: . Undergraduate degree in finance, computer science, engineering or a quantitative science. . Software Development experience of 5 - 7 years preferred. . Primary platform is HTML/JavaScript/Silver light and candidate must have knowledge of integrating with systems including AJAX, XML, and SQL. . Expertise in writing JavaScript and working with JS based libraries such as Ext JS or jQuery . Solid understanding of CSS and the browser DOM and manipulating it . Strong user experience design skills . Ajax or other communication experience with XML . Experience developing RIA using Flash/Flex or Silver light a plus The Locus application is continuously growing and increasing its business support within Investment Bank. As signification projects are requested by the multiple business areas which are supported by the Locus application there becomes a clear need for senior developers.
