Data/Information Architect Location: Atlanta, GA Length: 6 months Interview: Phone Job Description : * Expertise in conceptual information models that are understandable to non-technologists * Ability to abstract information and models from the most basic high level down to very detailed level * Expertise in data modeling including definition of entities, relationships, data objects * Expertise in data dictionaries, including definition of attributes * Data standards development including understanding of why data standards are required and how they can be leveraged * Excellent communications skills both verbal and written * Basic knowledge of supply chain processes * Experience with product information from either discrete or process industries * Ability to demonstrate data models in action by prototyping small databases and showing real life examples * Expert in visualizing complex data relationships to show critical information junctions / dependencies and relevance Responsibilities Prepare functional design of the solutions to adhere to the architecture and data standards. Assist in planning, configuration and implementation tasks as required. Develop, maintain and provide functional expertise Establish and communicate strategies for migration to and use of new or emerging technologies. Work across projects to assist with data modeling, data architecture design, and data movement. Work with the project teams to prepare for final production readiness. Participate in cross functional teams to promote functional strategies, analyze and test products Lead solution design from requirements determination to design and development to testing and support Model functional solutions architecture, working closely with the technical architecture team in delivering an overall solution architecture Develop and refine the functional approach, data flow, and data mapping design requirements and create the functional specifications to support those requirements as required Lead and/or participate in business system design/redesign activities, and identify potential impacts on the organization Lead and/or participate in business system roadmap development, and identify potential impacts on the organization Conduct planning initiatives, feasibility studies, cost/benefit analyses, and new systems design, Collaborate with internal and external customers to elicit their business concerns and develop workable solutions Lead cross-functional team meetings to identify desired modifications, capabilities, and features desired by End-Users Develop functional solution architecture assessment and prepare recommendations for improvements Promote shared infrastructure and applications to reduce costs and improve information flows, and ensure that projects do not duplicate functionality or diverge from business and IT strategies Responsible for management of all supplier functional resources Responsible for maintaining adequate staff to meet planned resource demands. Consults technical solutions architects to design solutions that meet functional requirements Coordinates engagement of other Supplier COEs and product experts to provide additional solution and product consulting and advice Plans and executes regular educational sessions to facilitate client understanding and adoption of new or improved technology and practices. Ensures quality of deliverables through a process of regular review and monitoring Ensures compliance with the release methodology Lead very large process optimization efforts involving multiple business stakeholders and functional areas Lead large business system design/redesign activities, and identify potential impacts on the organization Lead business system roadmap development, and identify potential impacts on the organization Conduct planning initiatives, feasibility studies, cost/benefit analyses, and new systems design for large cross-functional global programs Collaborate with internal and external customers to elicit their business concerns and develop workable solutions Lead cross-functional team meetings to identify desired modifications, capabilities, and features that enable the business and IT strategies Develop functional solution architecture assessment and prepare recommendations for improvements Qualifications BA/BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience, Eight or more years of functional experience in application development Advanced knowledge of distributed, heterogeneous scalable systems design Advanced knowledge of internet, intranet, and extranet systems design (security, content management, eCommerce, web, and application servers) Ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand Advanced knowledge of distributed, heterogeneous scalable systems design Strong business process and industry best practice knowledge in multiple functional areas Excellent communication skills (written and oral) Advanced knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering Advanced Knowledge of SOA concepts and related frameworks Strong understanding of enterprise architecture tools, COTS applications, and user interfaces Knowledge of IT governance and operations Thanks.
