Building Checkpoint 2200's for each of Staples North American stores. Running
R77.10/R77.20, these firewalls will be built out with 3 Virtual Firewalls.
Coordination with installing groups is required to update policies, handle
store relocations, configurations of interfaces when new equipment is brought
online, and troubleshooting general connectivity issues. Once the rollout is
complete, the position will be responsible for ongoing Retail changes and
troubleshooting.
Availability:
One or more accepted applicants would be required to start at 6AM EST. There
is no travel required with the initial rollout, although once complete, if
an accepted applicant wants to be more involved in other aspects of Staples
Security, travel could arise. The position is based out of Framingham MA.
Skills required:
Checkpoint Experience, up to and including R77. Will consider experience with
lower versions as long as it's recent.
Network Security Engineer
Responsibilities:
* Implement and operate secure infrastructure for critical applications
* Define infrastructure requirements for the implementation of new applications
and projects
* Work in collaboration with other departments or organizations to develop
and analyze systems in support of their projects or mission, then upgrade or
enhance the infrastructure to meet their requirements
* Provide 3rd level technical support for complex production systems and
services
* Lead projects and efforts that require specialized infrastructure skills
* Work with the various project stakeholders to facilitate implementation and
completion of the projects
* Proactively monitor infrastructure for optimal performance and provide input
for capacity planning and fine tune infrastructure when needed
* May act as project manager in area of expertise
* Lead in the evaluation of new products and services
* May execute specific activities related to the improvement or performance
of systems infrastructures
* Identifies areas where existing policies and procedures require change or
where new ones need to be developed. Maintains all relevant documentation
* Participates in related industry organizations and special interest groups
* Maintains relationships with 3rd party technical support engineers/teams
* Rotating off hour on-call support required
* Limited travel required
Required:
* Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
* Minimum of 8 years overall IT experience
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in Network Security
* Experience with enterprise firewall technologies
* Experience TCP/IP and common network protocols
* Experience with Checkpoint, Fortinet, Juniper and Palo Alto firewalls,
primarily

* Technical writing experience
* Troubleshooting experience
Preferred:
* CISSP and /or GIAC certifications highly desirable
* Experience with IDS Management and Event Management highly desirable
* Experience with Web Vulnerability Management highly desirable
* Experience with Cisco networking technologies
* Experience performing detailed Risk Assessments
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with limited supervision
* Project management experience
* Demonstrated ability to communicate with multiple levels/organizations
* Demonstrated ability to succeed in a multi-task, team-oriented environment
* Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to detail
* Technical writing experience
