Position: Websphere Administrator Location: Albany- NY Duration: 12+ months
Project Description: The Integrated Justice Portal is in the process of upgrading our Websphere products and migrating from a single data center to a multi data center solution. The Integrated Justice platform supports critical 7 x 24 Criminal Justice applications, and it is expected that these upgrades and migrations will be accomplished without any downtime. Webpshere Portal V6.0 is being upgraded to Portal V6.1, and WAS 6.0 and WAS 6.1 are being upgraded to WAS 7. The project includes migrating the clustered pre-Prod and Production environments. The Portal environment utilizes the WCM (Web Content Management) product and requires the migration of that content. Responsibilities include installation, configuration, migration of portlets, content, and applications. The candidate will also be responsible for verification of the environment, failure testing of the environment, and working with the various development and test teams to resolve any issues. Qualified candidates must have: • Eight (8) years experience in supporting IT systems. • Two (2) years experience with the installation, configuration, and administration of Websphere Portal V6 and V6.1 • Three (3) years experience with the installation, configuration, and administration of Websphere Application Server V6.1 and 7. Candidates must also have one (1) of the preferred skilled sets listed below. Accordingly, candidates not meeting the supporting experiential specifications below will not be considered for the position. 1. Experience upgrading from Websphere Portal V6.0 to Portal V6.1 2. Experience upgrading from WAS 6 and WAS 6.1 to WAS 7 3. Six (6) months experience with IBM’s WCM (Web Content Management) in a Portal 6 or 6.1 environment. 4. Six (6) months experience administering Websphere process Server and/or Business Monitor.
